François Collat is the Chief Financial Officer at Paramount Equity Financial Corporation and came to PEFC after an extensive search, with a wealth of experience working in senior finance roles for both Institutional Banking and Public Corporations since 1997. Prior to joining PEFC, François ran his own consulting business, working with large financial institutions like Royal Bank of Canada, HSBC Bank Canada, and Macquarie, implementing new accounting standards like hedge accounting, conversion to IFRS for MBS, and FAS 157. François also worked as Controller Canada & US Mortgage Securitization Division at Macquarie. Prior to that, he worked in Corporate Treasury for Canadian Tire and Labatt Brewing Company Limited managing cash, short and long term borrowing and investing, as well as risk management. A finance graduate of the University of Paris XIII (Paris, France) with a degree in Business Management (Maîtrise des Sciences de la Gestion) equivalent to an Honours BA, as evaluated by the University of Toronto, François is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CMA), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) for both Canada and US with the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP).
